A lot of property flippers will look to buying 2nd hand products like kitchen cabinets, tiles, flooring etc from marketplace and gumtree to save cost.
I think it’s a great idea because you can save thousands, there’s lots of people who are selling off supplies they have left over from their own home renovations.
The downside to this is that it can be quite time consuming. I personally prefer to use my time looking for more properties, more deals, because I am happier to make a little less profit on a deal and have more deals in my pipeline because this is how I’ll make more money.
There’s no right or wrong answer here, if you’re comfortable with how much prospecting you’re doing, you’re comfortable with your pipeline and you want to save some extra bucks on the renovation then it can definitely pay off.
For me personally though, I wouldn’t enjoy searching Marketplace for cheap buys and I’d rather spend my time elsewhere.
